This was a self portrait of the expression of my face when reading and understand the environmental and ethical implications of processes in the fashion industry. Once I started getting into fashion, I began understanding all of the different sustainability issues and researched in way I could make an impact. Art was just another format where I could experiment with fabric from old clothes I found in the basement. This collage is the first in a series of experimentation using scrap fabric to upcycle and repurpose something that would have been originally thrown out.
